Why is the debt toolkit actually free?

Because the people who most need budgeting software are the least able to pay for it. A family servicing three debts shouldn't fund our roadmap before they've cleared their own. It's the mission — and honestly, it's also the best marketing we'll ever do: families who get free with Nestomic tend to stay for the household.

Questions, answered

The fine print, in plain English.

Is the free plan actually free, or a trial in disguise?

Actually free. The Debt Toolkit has no time limit, no card on file, and no feature countdown. It exists because debt payoff is the mission, not a funnel — though we won't pretend we're sad when families upgrade later.

Do I need to buy a screen for the wall calendar?

No — that's rather the point. Portal mode runs in the browser on any tablet you already own: an old iPad, a Fire tablet, anything. Skylight and Hearth charge £600–700 for hardware; we charge £0 because the software is the product.

Is my bank data safe?

Bank connections run through Plaid — the same infrastructure used by major banking apps. Nestomic never sees or stores your bank credentials, and read-only access means nothing can move money.

How many family members can join?

Unlimited, on every plan. Partners get full money access; kids can get just their chores, lists, and calendar — you decide who sees the numbers.

What happens if I cancel?

You drop to the free Debt Toolkit, keep your data, and can export everything as CSV anytime. No retention dark patterns; the cancel button is in settings, where it should be.

Is there a mobile app?

Nestomic is web-first and works beautifully in any mobile browser today — add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app. Native mobile apps are on the roadmap for phase three.
